Canada Day Collaboration by IchirooishI Canada Day Collaboration by IchirooishI
Here is a Canada Day collaboration between myself and
Cody-Church
also of DA. Okay, I've posted it a little early, but why not? It's the only "day-themed" piece I've completed before the day arrived.

I originally had an idea to draw a female lumberjack as the main part of a piece for Canada Day, but I didn't have any other ideas so I suggested a collaboration to my friend Cody in order to steal his ideas because I'm lazyy.

It was done completely in PS. We both have Wacom Intuos 3 tablets.

Cody suggested we use only red, white, black and shades of grey. I insisted on brown and in the end we made an exception for gold. We tried to add as many stereotypical Canadian icons as we dared. This took us about 2.5 weeks, starting from June 13, 2010.

Among the things left out for space or time:

Canada Arm
Prominent beer
Salmon
Politicians
Ice fishing
Bears

Hope you enjoy and Happy Canada Day!

Thanks! That's supposed to be the Lionsgate Bridge heading to the North Shore Mountains in Vancouver.

This is so sweet! I love the mounty with his 'stache. So classic and well done!

Thanks for the feedback! The Mountie was done by my partner actually, he's quite impressive (at least the goose and beaver think so!)
